Little Monarch’s ‘For a Moment You’re Mine’ Takes Us On A Dreamy, Bittersweet Journey

Little Monarch, the creative brainchild of singer-songwriter Casey Kamelson, releases her latest single ‘For a Moment You’re Mine.’ Kamelson is an LA-based producer and multi-instrumentalist creating indie pop as Little Monarch.

From the second you start playing this song, you’re hit with soft, dreamy vocals from Kamelson that guide you through this ethereal paradise where you find all the answers you’re looking for. The rising and fading melody makes it feel like this song is a fleeting moment you’re desperately trying to hold onto.

Kamelson describes this song as holding a special place in her heart and thinks it “captures so purely a side of [herself] as a writer and producer that [she] was always craving to explore and express. Lush, textural, somewhat somber and romantic.” The nearly four-minute song makes you feel simultaneously lost and found.

Compared to Little Monarch’s previously released music, ‘For a Moment You’re Mind’ is a much calmer, more introspective single. After riding the high from “Strike,” released in 2021, I would expect a similarly sounding song, but what we got was the exact opposite. I don’t believe that’s a bad thing at all. It shows Little Monarch has depth and range.

Favorite Lyric: “Empty streets lost paradise our worlds still collide for a moment you’re mine”
